Mission

The mission of Emergency Food Network (EFN) is "to provide Pierce County with a consistent, diverse, and nutritious food supply so that no person goes hungry."

EFN's Work

EFN provides over 75 Partner Programs with a million pounds of food per month, at no cost to them. This work is more crucial now than ever before as the need continues to rise. In Washington State, 1 in 4 people visited a food pantry in 2024. EFN's partner food pantries, meal sites, and shelters throughout Pierce County had over 3 million visits last year, which was a 130% increase from 2019.

Federal budget cuts are adding to the need. Lifesaving food assistance programs, like SNAP, are now at risk of being severely reduced. Reduced funding has already resulted in EFN losing 335,000 pounds of food in the first four months of 2025.

The need is great, but our resolve is greater. Your GiveBIG donation will help: with every dollar raised and pound of food distributed, we are one step closer to ensuring that no person goes hungry.
