Our Mission

Every day, Early Music Seattle aims to present outstanding early music, enrich cultural heritage via education and outreach, and engage new audiences through inclusivity and openness. 

With your support, we are designing a new way of thinking about Early Music: from the traditional European music of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods to the wider story of all cultures and communities, enriching our understanding of the cultural interconnectedness that forms the foundations of the world’s great music traditions.

About Us

Early Music Seattle has been a beloved and leading organization for early music in the area for more than 45 years. Its support and strong connection with the community it serves, led to the development of many current non-profit and community projects - including the Sine Nomine Choir, Gallery Concerts, the Medieval Women’s Choir and of course the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, now part of the organization. 

Your gift during GiveBig this year will support our new Beyond Baroque Initiative. 

For our 2024-2025 Festival Season, Early Music Seattle reimagines its performing arts season with Beyond Baroque! Beyond Baroque represents Early Music Seattle’s commitment to bring the greatest early music performances from across the world together with Seattle’s local artists, organizations and our arts partners to truly enrich cultural life in the Pacific Northwest. Early Music Seattle aims to establish Seattle as the home for groundbreaking, diverse artistry and outreach in the world of Early Music.  

Beyond Baroque also marks the establishment of new partnerships with local arts organizations, including the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, the University of Washington, Frye Art Museum, Cornish College of the Arts, Peyvand NPO, Seattle-Isfahan Sister City Advocacy, Seattle Folklife, Consulado de México en Seattle, the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Seattle and more.
