Mission

SAFE San Juans (SAFE) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support survivors of Domestic Violence (DV) and Sexual Assault/Abuse (SA) while working to reduce abuse. 

Description

All of our services are free and confidential, and our agency serves people regardless of actual or perceived race, color, religion, disability, pregnancy, national origin, sexual orientation, gender or gender identity, age, ethnicity, income, social/economic status, veteran status, marital status, conscience, sex, or any basis prohibited by federal, state or local law.

Our objectives are to provide immediate, confidential support to survivors and secondary victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, while offering both short- and long-term, client-directed, empowerment-based services that enhance safety and autonomy for those living in or visiting San Juan County. We are committed to ensuring access to confidential emergency and long-term shelter, increasing community awareness of domestic and sexual violence and available resources, and driving meaningful change in individuals, relationships, and communities by addressing root causes of violence, shifting culture, building skills, and promoting healthy relationships.
