Downtown Emergency Service Center

A nonprofit organization

Help us provide the dignity of a home and access to healthcare by making a donation today.

DESC works every day to achieve our vision of a community where no person is abandoned, ignored, or experiencing homelessness. As the largest homelessness services provider in King County, we provide services to over 3,000 individuals each day.

Our supportive housing and behavioral healthcare are on the line as federal cuts loom, but together, we can protect them.

Our mission is to dismantle obstacles hindering access to care, positioning ourselves as a pioneering force nationally in innovative approaches. Through an extensive array of services spanning health care, housing, outreach, substance use disorder treatment, and tailored support, our overarching objective is to effect tangible improvements in the lives and overall well-being of our community constituents

DESC provides over 1,900 units of permanent supportive housing across Seattle. Through 2025-2027, we are excited to add 440 more places to call home with 4 additional housing locations, all in different phases of progress. We also plan to increase access to care with the opening of the ORCA (Opioid Recovery and Care Access) Center this summer. Much of that work is made possible by federal funding, which DESC is at risk of losing.

Help us bridge these gaps and protect the housing and healthcare our most vulnerable neighbors rely on! Donate TODAY to defend the stability that DESC provides in our community.
