Stand with DESC for GiveBIG in 2026: Protect Housing. Deliver Hope.
DESC works every day to achieve our vision of a community where no person is abandoned, ignored, or experiencing homelessness. As the largest homelessness services provider in King County, we provide services to over 3,000 individuals each day.
Our supportive housing and behavioral healthcare are on the line as federal cuts loom, but together, we can protect them.
The fight to end homelessness has reached a critical turning point. Proven solutions like Housing First and permanent supportive housing—strategies that DESC has championed for decades—are now at risk due to drastic shifts in federal funding. As we face these new challenges, DESC remains committed to ensuring every person has access to the dignity of a home and the care they need.
In 2025 alone, we launched three groundbreaking initiatives: the ORCA Center, providing life-saving opioid recovery care; the STAR Center, a first-of-its-kind behavioral health shelter; and Steven’s Place, our 18th supportive housing site, providing homes to 109 neighbors this holiday season.
In 2026 we have opened our 19th supportive housing site, Clover Place, providing 95 homes to our neighbors. In June of 2026 we will be opening our 20th supportive housing site - Birch Grove, located in Lake City, providing an additional 120 homes.
And as we look ahead to the rest of 2026 and beyond, we will not stop our progress until each person has a safe place to sleep each night. But we can't do this work alone.
Make a gift to DESC today for Giving Tuesday and make a create a better future for our entire community.
