Dance Fremont is a community dance school in North Seattle for youth and adults, providing in-depth training in ballet and modern dance since 1996. In a caring and respectful studio environment, we use the art of dance to inspire joy, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
We believe that high quality dance training should be available to everyone, inclusive of all backgrounds, bodies and identities.
Nobody should be turned away from something that means so much to them just because they can't afford it. We ensure access to dance through scholarship programs, accessible public performances, subsidized rehearsal space, and community partnerships.
During the pandemic we expanded our scholarship support and community program to make sure that everyone continues to have access to dance. Your financial support enables dancers to receive scholarships to stay in class, even if they or their family have lost income, and allows us to offer pay-what-you-can classes to the dance community. It allows us to keep our teachers, office staff, & musicians working.
Your support has also helped us with our move to our wonderful interim location in Greenwood, while we await the construction of our future home in the new building on Stone Way.
Even with all the expenses of moving last year, thanks to your donations, we gave out over $7,000 in scholarships, and over $5,000 of in-kind support to working dancers and choreographers in the Seattle area. We hope to match and exceed this amount this year, bolstering the Seattle dance community and cultivating the next generation of dancers!
