Carlsen Cello Foundation loans great cellos to talented students who could otherwise not afford the instrument they need and deserve.

Description

For over 30 years, the Foundation has loaned beautiful cellos to students nation-wide who could not otherwise afford the instrument they deserve.  CCF now has dozens of alumni world-wide and 60 cellos currently out on loan. Finer cellos cost $10,000 and up but they can change the world of a hard-working cello student, providing richer tone, quicker response, and easing frustrating technical struggles.  The Foundation matches each recipient with a cello that works best for them and provides shipping throughout the US for students beyond the Pacific Northwest.  CCF recipients are currently attending almost every major conservatory and music school in the United States.  Each Carlsen cello recipient actively participates in their community, creating opportunities to give back through music, thereby multiplying the gift of a single cello many times over.
