Mission

YouthCare is committed to ending youth experiencing homelessness in our community and ensuring that young people are valued for who they are while being empowered to reach their full potential.

Description

YouthCare is dedicated to ending youth homelessness and empowering young people to realize their full potential. Since its founding in 1974, YouthCare has been a pioneering force in serving runaway and homeless youth on the West Coast, offering a safe haven and a path toward a brighter future. The organization’s vision is clear: to create a world where no young person faces homelessness, all youth can thrive, and systemic barriers are dismantled. This passionate commitment drives YouthCare’s work every day.

Over the past four decades, YouthCare has set national standards for excellence by developing best practices and programs that serve as a model for others.

Today, YouthCare operates 15 sites across Seattle, providing support to more than 1,500 young people annually. Each youth receives personalized care that addresses their specific needs and aspirations. Through a comprehensive range of services—including outreach, prevention, shelter, housing, education, and employment training—as well as vital community partnerships offering legal aid, behavioral health services, and post-secondary support, YouthCare ensures that young people experiencing homelessness gain the skills, hope, and self-confidence needed to build long-term stability.
