We have devoted ourselves and our non-profit organization to face, head on, the harsh challenges that threaten our youth. These challenges include teen pregnancy, youth suicide, teen delinquency, teen drug abuse, youth obesity, and youth hunger. We feel that one of the keys to successfully dealing with these challenges is involvement and participation in activities and sports such as soccer, football, baseball, basketball, and Mixed Martial Arts such as jiu jitsu, wrestling, boxing, karate, etc. There are many more the children could choose from as the choices are endless. This is just a small sampling of the activities we could help to provide with your generous donation. Yakima Next Gen helps to provide these sports opportunities to qualifying families in Yakima, Wa. and the surrounding counties through financial support. Our mission extends beyond sports, as we also aim to promote proper nutrition for an active and healthy lifestyle.

Here are some statistics showing how valuable sports are in keeping children on the right path.

*A study from the Women's Sports Foundation showed an 80% drop in unintended pregnancies in highschool girls who were involved in sports activities compared to the girls who were not.

*According to the National Survey on drugs use and health, teens participating in activities like sports are 92% less likely to get involved with drugs compared to non-athletes.

*The CDC reports that being involved with sports correlates with lower rates of depression and suicidal thoughts which then leads to less teen suicides and suicide attempts.

*Studies from the International Journal of Obesity show that teens involved in sports have a 30% lower obesity rate than their inactive peers.

*A systematic review by Taylor and Francis on sports interventions found that youth develop life skills and reduce delinquency when involved in sports, thus keeping youth engaged, off the streets, and out of gangs.

We believe that every child deserves the chance to participate in sports and experience the joy and growth it brings. Unfortunately, many children miss out on this opportunity due to financial constraints, leading to gaps in their developmental, physical, and social growth. This is where we step in.

When you donate to Yakima Next Gen, you help create a positive impact for low-income families with youth ages 5-18. Your contributions provide essential funding for registration fees, class expenses, and necessary equipment, empowering children to pursue their favorite sports and activities.

Participation in organized sports offers numerous benefits for children and teens. It fosters physical health through exercise and provides psychological benefits through teamwork and collaboration. Engaging in sports can enhance physical coordination, fitness, and self-esteem while teaching vital life skills such as teamwork and self-discipline. These qualities are crucial for children as they navigate life's challenges and make positive choices.

Furthermore, sports play a key role in keeping our youth safe and engaged, steering them away from negative influences such as gangs and keeping them off the streets. Our organization is here to ensure that every child, regardless of their financial situation, has the opportunity to experience these invaluable benefits.

We also focus on providing nourishing food to these families, promoting healthy and active lifestyles. With rising food prices, many families struggle to access nutritious options. Your support helps us supply fresh food for their fridges, freezers, and pantries.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to building a brighter future for our local youth. Join us in making a meaningful difference!
