Who We Are

Wallingford Community Senior Center (WCSC) is a dedicated space for positive and healthy aging. A place where our members are empowered to live meaningful, enriched lives through their aging journey. We create programming and provide services that are informed by real-world knowledge and hands-on experience, that honors our members’ goals, and never takes a one-size-fits-all approach. And we’re located at the heart of a vibrant community, showing the wider world that older adults are essential and deserve an inclusive place to call home. 

When it comes to creating programming, we have an important body of experts to whom we consult: our participants themselves. Every quarter we listen to our members at a Member Advisory Forum to learn what they want and how we can make it happen. Whether it's new offerings at lunch, providing more opportunities for counseling, or adding a new EnhanceFitness exercise class, we find a way to make it happen. Our job is to create empowerment towards the facilitation of positive and enriching experiences. 

WCSC programming is not just entertainment; it's a bridge that connects people in a growing, fast-paced community. Our goal is to help our members build long-lasting bonds, making friends and finding companionship that lasts after they walk out the door.

Why We Need Your Help

WCSC is more than a senior center; it's a vibrant hub for connection. Whether it’s striking up a conversation at the water station during fitness class, meeting the folks from down the block at Spaghetti Dinner, or attending an art display presentation put on by one of our peers and really learning what makes them “tick”, WCSC is a critical point of access for inclusion, participation, and belonging for all older adults within a wide and diverse community.

A community like this requires intention, collaboration, resources, time, effort, and care on the part of WCSC staff, leaders, volunteers, members, and supporters.

Your support during GiveBIG 2025— starting now, and culminating on May 6–7—will enable us to: 

• Provide accessible services to all seniors, regardless of their financial means
• Offer daily hot meals and wellness programs
• Expand our technology support in a new, upgraded computer lab
• Provide services and resources in support of our most vulnerable community members
