Description

Here’s a quick story for you: imagine a space where laughter can heal, where creativity has no limits, and where everyone, regardless of income, can experience the joy of live theater. That’s what we’re doing at Unexpected Productions, and we need your help to keep that magic alive.

For years, we’ve been creating a place where people can come together, leave their worries at the door, and experience the unpredictable fun of improv comedy. But it’s more than just about the laughs—we’re building a community, one spontaneous moment at a time.

  • Here’s the kicker: we’re committed to keeping our ticket prices as low as possible. While other theaters raise their prices, we keep it affordable. Our avg. ticket price is $9.  $12 for students, seniors, and military. $5 for TeenTix members. Why? Because we believe everyone should have access to the art of improv, regardless of their financial situation.
  • We also work with medical providers to offer medical simulation, using improv skills to save lives literally.
  • In 2024, Unexpected Productions offered 40 different shows with 375 performances to over 33,000 audience members.
  • You can be a part of 7 shows every week, Wednesday - Sunday, with the greatest variety of improv in the PNW.
  • We offer monthly performances of our in-house Spanish language improv show, Mucho Improv. It's the only Spanish-language improv show in Seattle.
  • In 2024, we offered 1650 students 114 regular and specialty improv classes. We offer seven levels of classes, four quarters a year, and specialty improv, sketch, and storytelling classes taught by renowned teachers worldwide.
  • As Seattle's original improv company, we have many "firsts" under our belt, including being the first to offer Theatresports in the US, the first teen improv classes, the first Spanish language improv class, the first improv school in WA, the first improv festival, and the first improv company to reopen to LIVE performances after the pandemic.

Here's the thing: we can't do it alone. We’re asking you, our community, to help us make this happen. Through GiveBIG, your donation will directly support our mission to provide affordable, accessible improv to those who need it most. You can be part of making this place a sanctuary of creativity for the next generation of audience members, students, performers, and dreamers.

Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to ensuring that laughter, connection, and joy continue to thrive in our city.

Thank you for being part of our story. Together, we can keep making improv a place for everyone to feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
