Mission

Our mission is building better health, stable housing, and a community of support for people living with mental illness. Our goal is to provide safe housing and behavioral health treatment to ensure our clients have successful lives in the community, staying off the streets and outside of institutions.

Description

We are a nonprofit behavioral health agency that provides mental health treatment and supportive housing for low-income adults living with serious mental illness. Many of our clients are formerly homeless, all live far below the poverty line, and nearly half are people of color. More than 40% are over 50 years old.

What they have in common is that they’ve fallen through the cracks, and TR is often the last net to catch them.

But here’s the truth we’re facing right now--federal and state funding for behavioral health is at risk.

  • Housing programs, including the emergency housing vouchers that over 1,000 people in King County use for rental assistance, have been put on pause.
  • Medicaid reimbursements are shrinking.
  • Crisis outreach teams are losing support.

These are not abstract policy changes, they are very real threats to the care TR provides every day.

If these cuts go through, we may have to reduce access to critical services like psychiatric medication management, or case management support, or supportive housing. These are not just line items, this is someone's stability, someone’s chance to stay out of crisis.

Your donations help us fill those gaps left by these cuts.  They help keep our clients supported and housed. They help us cover treatment and medications so our clients can have reliable access to mental healthcare. They help us give people the basics they need to move from survival mode into stability and healing--things like food, hygiene supplies, and transportation to appointments.

We know that when we step up, we can make a difference together.

Recognition

TR’s Board of Directors will match the first $6,000 donated to TR through GiveBIG!

We have seen incredible transformations from our clients. Your donation will help provide a safety net to support our day-to-day operations so our clients can continue having safety, dignity, and hope.
