$2,000 Goal

At the House of Wisdom, we provide personalized tutoring for our community with a focus on marginalized and disadvantaged communities, making learning fun and effective through one-on-one sessions tailored to each student’s needs. Our mission is to embrace people of all backgrounds and help them achieve their goals through education. We offer tutoring in different languages and also provide cultural learning and engagement programs to foster understanding and respect among our students. Our core values revolve around creating an all-inclusive, welcoming environment that encourages diverse perspectives and promotes cultural exchange.

Ahmad Hilal Abid a 19-year-old immigrant founded this organization in my parents' garage to assist 20 refugee and immigrant students with their homework, help them feel a sense of belonging, and create a place for them amidst the Covid-19 pandemic at Lynnwood, Washington. Over the years, through dedication and challenges, with the help of community volunteers and staff, we have been able to provide free math, English, coding, and cultural education, as well as community engagement events to up to 200 students in four cities: Marysville, Lynnwood, Lake City, and Everett.

We have achieved this by partnering with fellow community organizations and higher education institutions such as the University of Washington and Edmonds College. However, there is high demand for our services, and as a new nonprofit organization, we face challenges in assisting more students since we are fully volunteer-based.
