The Tenants Union of Washington State (TU) works for housing justice—stable, healthy, affordable housing for all—through empowerment-based tenant education, organizing, leadership development, and advocacy. The TU is an organization that is by and for low-income BIPOC tenants, bringing low-income communities to the forefront of these struggles by developing our leadership, celebrating our diversity, and amplifying our voices. For over forty-six years, the organization has supported tenants, won tenant protections through local and statewide legislation, and developed tenant associations to build the power of tenants in their buildings and neighborhoods.

In 2023 the Tenants Union of Washington responded to 2,170 tenant hotline calls, reached 410,600 individuals through our tenant rights website, and worked with over 100 tenant leaders statewide. We developed tenant leadership by providing multilingual education to over 3,000 renters through 110 know-your-rights workshops & technical assistance calls with renters, and fought for tenant protections across Washington State, building bipartisan interest and moving the needle on our policy campaign for Rent Stabilization forward.

Join us to raise funds for critical services and programs for Washington's renters and marginalized communities.

Together, we are keeping people safe and housed!
