Action for Pets, Compassion for People
In a region where animal welfare services are scarce, Team Okanogan Animal Rescue (TOAR) provides the support that thousands of animals and families rely on. With no county animal shelter or animal control services, and limited access to affordable veterinary care, we’re here to ensure that no pet or family is left behind.
By working in one of Washington's most geographically isolated and resource-limited areas—where poverty rates often exceed 20% and the Colville Reservation covers much of the county—TOAR provides life-changing services that bring hope, health, and support to pets and their people.
Our programs include:
Free spay/neuter and vaccine clinics to prevent overpopulation and keep pets healthy. Our Big Fix clinics are the largest, free spay/neuter clinics in the state!
Pet food and supply distribution to help families in need care for their animals.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) services to stabilize community cat populations.
Emergency veterinary care for families in financial crisis, so pets get the care they need.
Transport assistance to help animals find loving, adoptive homes.
In 2024, TOAR helped over 2,100 animals, distributed more than 120,000 pounds of pet food, and provided $43,000 in emergency veterinary care and grant funding—all thanks to the support of donors who believe in our mission.
At TOAR, every program is grounded in the belief that compassionate communities start with access to care. With your donation, we’re working to ensure that every animal—regardless of circumstances—has the opportunity to live a healthier, happier life.
