Mission

The Tacoma Youth Symphony Association is a dedicated quality music education organization that attracts and sustains the highest level of musical excellence for training and performance in the Puget Sound area. TYSA challenges young musicians to pursue musical excellence, to seek intellectual stimulation, to experience the love and joy of music-making, to appreciate cultural diversity, and to become socially-aware and responsible citizens.

At the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association, we commit to providing each and every student with the highest level of equitable musical education and artistic excellence to empower them as young future leaders. Through our program of concerts, rehearsals, music theory, and a comprehensive summer festival we engage our students in all facets of an unsurpassed symphonic learning experience, creating a solid foundation for their musical journey.
