About Us

We are a group of people who live and/or work in Renton. We care greatly about building a sustainable community — one that fosters connections between people, protects natural resources, and treads as lightly as possible on the Earth. Our mission is to foster a healthier community and planet. We currently focus our efforts on issues around food: Our Free Grocery Store, Sustainable Renton Community Farm, and Sustainable Talks all focus on food justice.

Every week, we support our to 1000 community members with free food that was otherwise destined for the landfill. We are a secular and low-barrier organization, offering food to our community members, no questions asked. Our remaining food goes to the Renton Senior Activity Center, surrounding LIHI tiny home villages, and a number of other support organizations.

Thank you to the many, many community members that have helped our organization throughout the years. We would not be making the kind of impact we are without all of our volunteers and committed participants of our programs. Together, we can continue to create a more sustainable and just Renton for all of us.
