Sunset Hill Community Hall

Now a City of Seattle Historic Landmark, the nearly 100-year old Sunset Hill Community Hall is one of the few historic halls that remain open for public use. Our mission is in continuing the community tradition of stewarding this great space, and keeping it accessible and available for public use.

Our renters are the lifeblood of Sunset Hill Community Hall! Each week, this historic venue is used by arts organizations; micro-businesses, nonprofits and other individuals and organizations, who offer classes, workshops and meet-ups for early childhood music and movement; children's ballet classes; dance workshops; yoga classes, wellness meet-ups and more.

We are also proud to be the weekly rehearsal space for a variety of public orchestras and choirs. Throughout the year, Sunset Hill Community Hall also hosts free and fun community parties and events, like our Summer BBQ block party and our annual Halloween parade and party. We are open year-round for rental, and our venue use includes family events, fundraisers, concerts, theater performances and other cultural events.

As a nonprofit public venue, rental revenue is the main source of our income, and income does not keep up with rising expenses. Your donation helps with ongoing stewardship and management of the Historic Landmark that is Sunset Hill Community Hall. Donations support our ability to keep this venue accessible for the diversity of renters who use this space for their own programming, and for the many guests that walk through our doors each week.

Please support this ongoing mission! As 'third places' are disappearing from civic life, a unique, public venue like Sunset Hill Community Hall provides a place to gather, connect, perform, and take part in shared, community life. Your donation helps us with things like elevator maintenance and upkeep (we are fully ADA accessible); grounds-keeping; commercial cleaning; electrical upgrades (including stage lighting); general facilities maintenance; and the costs associated with SHCH programming, and management of renter programming.
