Every day, millions of students in Washington State and across the country endure sexual harassment and assault by their peers both on and off campus. The behavior begins as early as elementary school and escalates through middle and high school, shaping patterns that continue into college and the workplace. Victims include girls, boys, and gender-expansive students. Seventeen percent of students will also experience school employee sexual misconduct before graduating high school. For many young people and their families, the consequences are life-altering.

Sexual harassment and hostile sexism reverberate throughout the school community impacting students who witness or hear about it. Creating lasting change requires more than written policies — it demands a proactive, sustainable framework that supports students, fosters a climate of respect, and ensures trauma-informed responses when harm occurs.

That’s where the Seattle-based national nonprofit Stop Sexual Assault in Schools (SSAIS) comes in. Our website offers resources, toolkits, videos, webinars, reporting guidance, legal information, direct support for survivors, advocacy resources, and opportunities for youth engagement — all free of charge. SSAIS is the go-to resource for students, families in need, schools, journalists, lawmakers, and more. But we cannot do this work without your help.

Will you make a donation today to help students feel safe and supported? Your contribution will:

  • Equip students, parents, and school staff in Washington and across the country with tools to effectively address sexual harassment and sex discrimination
  • Help Washington communities advocate so schools take proactive measures to end sexual bullying and assault
  • Support youth peer education and campaigns that counter misogyny and gender bias
  • Launch a national coalition to address K-12 sexual harm

One hundred percent of your donation benefits students and SSAIS operations.

Please give today. Safe, respectful, and equitable learning environments enable students to reach their full potential and instill values that shape the next generation.
