Since 1897, Spokane Humane Society (SHS) has been helping pets and people across Eastern Washington. With a 98% save rate and a commitment to no-kill values, we place over 1,500 animals into loving homes every year—and your support makes that possible.

Here’s how your generosity changes lives:

🐾 Creating New Beginnings

• In 2024, nearly 400 dogs—many of them puppies— were brought to SHS from under-resourced areas like Okanogan County

• Each one received needed care and was placed in a safe, loving home

🐾 Keeping Pets with Their Families

• Our Veterinary Medical Assistance Program (VMAP) provides urgent and preventative care to pets in low-income households

• We cover up to 100% of veterinary costs when needed to avoid surrender due to financial hardship

🐾 Feeding Pets, Easing Burdens

• In 2024, SHS distributed more than 22,250 pounds of pet food to families in need

• Helping pet parents keep their companions—even in tough times

🐾 Driven by Passionate People
