Mission

SPLASHForward is leading the advocacy efforts to bring a comprehensive world-class public health and aquatics center to the Greater Eastside and satellite facilities to the region. Our mission is to provide our communities with a year-round health and wellness oasis with affordable access to aquatic programming so that everyone can be safe in the water, drownings are prevented, community connections fostered, and everyone is exposed to a lifetime of healthy lifestyle opportunities.

Description

We believe in building a stronger and better community through aquatics that serves all ages, abilities, and is equitable for all. We aim to go beyond meeting the aquatics and wellness needs of the community. We envision an accessible, culturally inclusive, operationally efficient, and vibrant hub built on a foundation of lasting local partnerships for many generations to come. Our advocacy serves the broad aquatic needs of the region for a full range of fitness, recreation, health, wellness, and competitive aquatics programs for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. This is not just another pool. Our vision includes a design-forward, community experience for everyone; a place of pride and equity for our community; a place that promotes health & wellness through fitness, aquatics, and lifestyle medical services; and an affordable, operationally efficient, and sustainable facility.

SPLASHForward's role is to not only advocate for equitable access and the needs of all user groups but to lead the vision for partnerships and operational sustainability. We play a crucial role in bringing best-in-class learnings from existing facilities and the perspective of those who operate them to ensure we capitalize on the unique opportunity to build a facility that will be woven into our community's fabric for many generations. We are building the early partnerships, bringing stakeholder voices to the project, establishing private funding sources, and providing vision for the facility uses, spaces, and programming.
