South Whidbey at Home

South Whidbey at Home is a membership-based nonprofit dedicated to helping older South Whidbey residents remain in their homes and active in the community they love! We provide access to a variety of volunteer assistance, empowering educational opportunities, and social activities for members and volunteers. We're flipping the narrative on aging from fiercely independent to fiercely interdependent! 

2026 marks a decade of community at South Whidbey at Home — we're 10 years old this year! And we're soaring into the future with our new SEAR program (Support, Empower, and Age Resiliently). Launched through a generous grant from the Whidbey Community Foundation, SEAR is already transforming lives. It helps members take charge of their health and build a stronger support network so they can successfully stay in their own homes as they get older. We were able to hire local mental health professional, Kristen Bell, to work with members 15 hours per month. SEAR is so vital that we already have a waiting list of neighbors seeking help. As federal support shifts, the responsibility falls to us. We are seeking to double Kristen’s hours and secure funding through 2027 to ensure no one in our community is left to age alone.
