Mission

The South King County Discipline Coalition's (SKCDC) mission is to end disproportionate discipline of students of color and interrupt the school to prison pipeline through anti-racist organizing, leadership development and advocacy strategies that center parents and youth directly affected.

Description

The South King County Discipline Coalition (SKCDC) is a community-led organization focused on centering the voices of BIPOC families in advocating against the School to Prison Pipeline. Our work takes place in community gatherings where community shares stories, strategies and support. We regularly have local BIPOC trainers and facilitators that specialize in different aspects of building education advocacy, wellbeing and leadership skills in students, parents, caretakers and educators. Our goal is to support the BIPOC Community of South King County and Beyond in abolishing systemic racism and the School to Prison Pipeline through having fellowship around interpersonal, local, state and national advocacy efforts.
