It's an Art-A-Thon!

Only until April 19th - Make an early gift to our GiveBIG and help shape new works!

Only five opportunities available, so please act now!
Who knew giving money could be so much fun!

  • Step 1 - YOU make your gift
  • Step 2 - WE collect your prompt
  • Step 3 - the PLAYWRIGHT writes a one minute made-to-order monologue
  • Step 4 - the ACTOR performs the monologue
  • Step 5 - WE send YOU a recording of your own personal piece of art (at least until May 5th, when we share with the world!)

Starting April 20th, five playwrights from our Artists Council will have three days to outline, write, and revise brand-new monologues. Each playwright will then be paired with an actor who has three days to rehearse and record their world-premiere performance of this short piece. All of these performances will be available exclusively to our donors the whole week of GiveBIG early giving before being shared with the public on GiveBIG day.

Your gift gives space and time to underserved theatre makers.

Help TSGP raise the matching funds for equipment purchase to convert our studio into a professional performance space AND create a portable “black box in a box” that will allow us to transform any space into a class-act theatre.

A note from our board:

We're excited to help The Shattered Glass Project receive donations through this year’s GiveBIG on May 5th, an annual day of community giving across our state. TSGP has committed to a multi-year fundraising effort to build a “pocket theatre” that they can use both to transform their permanent space at the MLK FAME Community Center and to perform touring shows around King County. Some of the equipment we still need to acquire includes freestanding booms to hang lights on, flats to serve as set backdrops, and road cases so the lights and other fragile materials can travel safely. Our neighborhood of Madison Valley has no other performing arts centers or troupes, so this pocket theatre will bolster local economic power and enliven its communities.

Ultimately, TSGP’s fundraising ambitions are not just about acquiring technical theatre equipment. These ambitions are about amplifying the voices of theatre practitioners who, both historically and in modern times, have not always had the chance to share their visions with the world. These ambitions are about harnessing the power of art to reflect, shape, empathize with, and challenge both individuals and communities.

We hope you will consider making a donation to The Shattered Glass Project’s GiveBIG campaign. You can mark your calendar now for GiveBIG day on May 5th, or you can make an early donation starting right now and join in on the fun with our Art-A-Thon. Early gifts help us generate momentum as we share updates on our progress with prospective donors.

Warmly,

Kristina Washburn, Samantha Anderson, Cara Thomas, Buddy Todd, and Naomi Oler
