Even Heroes Need Heroes
The Seattle Fire Foundation harnesses the power of private philanthropy to respond to the needs of the Seattle Fire Department, the same way the department unfailingly responds to the needs of our communities. The goal is to raise supplemental funds for safety equipment, public education and other resources that the city budget cannot provide.

Description

As the brave men and women of the Seattle Fire Department race into burning buildings, they save lives—often carrying children to safety. They respond to heart attack victims, keeping hearts beating and families whole. They rush to the scene of car accidents, freeing those trapped and providing life-saving care. These firefighters are more than just first responders; they are our lifeline in times of crisis. Each one is an EMT, many are certified paramedics, all are highly trained professionals. They stand ready to protect us 24 hours a day, in every neighborhood of our city.

But even heroes need help. That’s why we created the Seattle Fire Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the firefighters who put their lives on the line for us every day. As a nonprofit, we have the agility to raise and allocate resources swiftly, ensuring that the Seattle Fire Department has what it needs when it matters most.

It provides ballistic gear, allowing them to enter high-risk situations more quickly and with greater confidence, protecting both life and property.
