Thank you for your support!
The mission of Seattle Children's Theatre is to provide children of all ages access to professional theatre, with a focus on new works, and theatre education.
Seattle Children's Theatre's vision is to transform the lives of young audiences, creating a more empathetic, hopeful, and resilient world.
Seattle Children's Theatre (SCT) sparks imagination, inspires hope, and creates a lifelong appreciation for the arts through live theatre and theatre education. For many children, SCT is their first, and sometimes, sole exposure to live theatre.
Founded in 1975, is one of the first professional theatres created exclusively to serve children and youth and is the largest in the Pacific Northwest. As a national leader in the Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) field for five decades, SCT has produced nearly 300 plays and served over 4 million young people of our region through vulnerable, authentic, educational stories that help young people understand the world around them. As one young person shared after seeing a production, "You gave me the encouragement to follow my dreams."
Ticket price should never be a barrier for any child, family, or classroom to attend one of our productions. Your support helps SCT provide free and low-cost tickets to young people and families through our two equitable pricing initiatives: SCT for All and One&Five. SCT for All allows families to name their own price, no questions asked, serving around 1,000 individuals each year. One&Five allows Seattle Public School’s (SPS) 1st and 5th-grade classes to attend a student matinee with bus transportation covered and receive a Dramatic Connections Workshop for free! This year we are poised to serve 4,400 students – over half of all SPS 1st and 5th graders!
When you make a gift to SCT, you ensure that children, now and for generations to come, can experience live theatre designed to inspire them to be well-rounded, individual thinkers who will grow up to be leaders in their communities. Please join us in this important work!
