WHO WE ARE
From the center of Seattle, Washington, Seattle Classical Christian School (SCCS) builds the city of God by forming servant leaders who love goodness, truth, and beauty. We send generations of resilient Christians into the world well-equipped to pursue, advance, and uphold God’s vision for human flourishing. Imagine generations of students going out to various universities, callings, communities, and careers as people who love God, think with reason, speak with humility, cherish beauty, embody virtue, and invest in their communities.
After 14 years, SCCS continues to fill a unique niche in Seattle's urban core and educational landscape by being the only Classical Christian school within Seattle city limits, and continuing to fill a unique role for families seeking an integrated education that cultivates wisdom, virtue, and faith in the urban core in the city where they live, work and worship.
SCCS supports the discipleship of students from over 40 churches (!) and remains committed to making life-transforming education accessible (48% of our student body is able to attend by receiving needs-based financial aid, including 12 FT Pastoral Families).
WHAT DOES WELL-EQUIPPED LOOK LIKE?
Last year, third-party consultants marveled at student responses when they asked our 9th and 10th graders how they’ve grown being SCCS students: "I have a love for learning." "I see the value in asking questions and forming your own opinion." "I can defend my faith." "I have learned to talk in a way that people will listen." "I am growing closer to and finding more joy in Jesus."
WHERE WE ARE NOW
We are prayerfully convinced that our world-influencing city needs a Christ-centered, classical school to enable Christian families and churches to stay and thrive in Seattle for years to come. Working towards that end, our SCCS community and like-minded friends have generously given $3.2 million over the last 2.5 years, enabling us to: Expand into a high school, provide more benefits and continued professional development for faculty and staff, offer more students access through robust financial aid; and unite our student body under one roof in a new, long-term lease
WHERE WE CAN GO WITH NEW and CURRENT PARTNER SUPPORT
GOAL – $2,500,000 – July 2024 – June 2026 It is through the support and growth of individual donors that SCCS can build a legacy of educating and forming generations of resilient Christians–servant leaders who will be the leaders and faithful workers that the families, churches, and cities of the future need.
Our giving-driven priorities are to:
1) Fund and sustain our financial aid offerings (48% of our students receive financial aid for a total of $880,000)
2) Continue to support metro-Seattle churches (this year, 12 pastoral families received a total of $360,000, with more in the application process)
3) Invest in our teachers because students thrive with long-term, well-trained, nurturing Christ-centered teachers
4) Create a Financial Aid endowment fund
5) Renovate to maximize space and raise capacity to 300 students.
