Founded in 2021, the Southeast Seattle Schools Fundraising Alliance (SESSFA) is a cooperative of Southeast Seattle public school PTAs and PTOs that believe in the power of sharing resources and strengthening relationships across our Southeast Seattle education community and beyond.
Serving more than 6,700 students at 17 elementary, K-8, and middle schools, SESSFA is volunteer-run by representatives from each of our member schools. Collectively, we work to ensure that all young students in Seattle Public Schools District 7 have the opportunity to benefit from PTA/PTO-funded materials and programs regardless of which school they attend. With SESSFA's community-funded support, Southeast Seattle schools have greater access to resources that enable critical investments in allowing every student to reach their fullest potential.
The need
The Southeast Seattle Schools Fundraising Alliance (SESSFA) is a network of 17 South Seattle public elementary, K-8, and middle schools partnering under the guiding principle that all schools and all students should thrive.
Together, we aim to mitigate the impacts of insufficient school funding on students furthest from educational justice with community-funded support for materials and programs to help every student reach their greatest potential.
Our mission
Engage SESSFA PTAs and PTOs to center advocacy and community building by equitably sharing resources and strengthening relationships across schools for the benefit of all Southeast Seattle students
Collaborate using a fundraising model that shifts focus away from fundraising at individual schools and prioritizes funds for populations furthest from educational equity
