To empower Native/First Nations/Indigenous youth to express themselves with confidence and clarity through traditional and contemporary performing arts.
Red Eagle Soaring (RES) is a Seattle-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization supporting youth access to Native arts and culture. Our free programming integrates contemporary theatre and traditional Native performing arts. RES engages Native youth in critical discussions about the issues affecting their lives and provides an affinity group where youth can build confidence, identity, and community. RES empowers Native youth to express themselves, take creative action, and to sustain their cultural heritage. RES offers an annual cycle of theatre and arts based education for Native/First Nations/Indigenous youth ages 10-19. We are two years into our new home at King Street Station and are actively recruiting more Native youth to come join us!
Red Eagle Soaring is supported by the United Way of King County and the Racial Equity Coalition (REC). Board members include: Shawn Peterson; Lacey Warrior; Jennifer Zeyl; Leah Tanner; Brandon Fuamatu; Noelani Montas; Emma Elliott; George Farrell; Martha Brice and Danson Coin. RES is also staffed by Alumni Nicole Suyama (Artistic Director), alumni Dylan Thomas Elwood (Literary Manager), Mackenzie Neusiok (Program Manager), and Russell Brooks (Executive Director).
