Mission

One Reel fuels Seattle civic pride through signature experiences that foster growth and development in our community and the arts. Our objective is to increase participation and opportunities for artists and audiences from all backgrounds, and to leave a lasting cultural legacy for future generations.

Description

In 2021, One Reel launched PublicDisplay.ART with a singular mission:

To make art accessible to you — and everyone you know.

Two years later, we feel like we’ve gotten pretty darn to close to accomplishing what we set out to do.

The first issue of PublicDisplay.ART hit Seattle in the fall of 2021. Since then, we’ve published a quarter of a million issues of Seattle’s only arts-focused, community-supported tabloid and distributed them for free to Seattle hotspots, as well as far flung locations in far off neighborhoods throughout the greater Seattle area.

There's so much more to share with you!

However,  why listen to us, when you can get the scoop from a handful of artists who have been featured in PublicDisplay.ART? So, let's hear what four local artists at various stages in their careers have to say:  FEATURED ARTISTS: Aramis Hamer, Mahhlie Beck, Blake Blanco, and Caroline Hitt.

And you can hear from the some of the artists who were featured way back in our first issue, in this video that was featured on EVENING MAGAZINE shortly after our launch in 2021. It's nice to see that so many of the things we aspired to do back then have been acheived! And we've only just begun!
