Mission

Pork Filled Productions is a theatre group that produces and develops genre plays, promotes Asian American and POC artists, and imagines fantastical, inclusive, and FUN universes. PFP envisions a bright universe informed by diverse experiences and perspectives populated by larger-than-life characters in worlds where everyone's story can be told.

Description

Pork Filled Productions/Players is an award-winning theatre that's the Pacific Northwest's longest running Asian American theatre group. PFP creates work that stretches the definitions of Asian American theatre, whether through sketch comedy or through full-length plays. We've been a longtime member of Seattle theatre and joyfully work with all parts of the community to advance Seattle Asian American theater artists.

PFP has a particular focus on genre work such as science fiction, fantasy, and horror, which are non-traditional subjects for Asian American theatre. In the past, we've presented Chinese pirate queens, supernatural romantic comedies, zombies/kung-fu/Shakespeare mash-ups, and steampunk extravaganzas.

For 2026

As the oldest Asian American theatre group in the Pacific Northwest, we have the responsibility to lead the community in our work on-stage.

We insure that the community's voice is heard. We produce shows for a desperately underrepresented group that aches to see their story on stage (20% of the population, 5% of the roles!). And we bring Seattle’s Asian American stories to national stages!

Make us a POWERHOUSE of Asian American theatre locally and nationally by donating to our cause!!

Our goal for 2026 is $4000 to produce and develop hopeful and fantastical theatre (like last year’s Exotic Deadly" Or the MSG Play). Give as little as $5, or as much as you want! Any amount packs a wallop! The first $1000 will be matched, doubling your punch! (And there are stretch goals!).

We have great projects for 2026!

  • We just finished Instant Noodles! Our 24 hour play festival (co-produced with SIS Productions) featuring Asian American talent on and off stage!

  • Also just finishing, What to Expect, a co-production with Seattle Public Theater, presenting a new play that uses climate change as a metaphor for mixed race identity (our first SF play and our first play working withe Middle Eastern/North African community)

  • Not Another Isekai, co-produced with Jet City Improv, long form improv comedy!

  • Asian Summer Arts Festival: a gathering of the top performing talent in the AAPINH community, with Beatbox Panda as a headliner

  • Community Night! Bringing together community artists to mingle, meet and play!

  • And in October, the world premiere of Nanay by Molly Olis Krost, a spooky tale that mixes Filipino mythology and tradition to explore sisterhood, trauma and healing.

  • PLUS: We are looking to add, for the very first time, paid staff for our work!

What a GREAT feeling, knowing we can come together to support Asian American communities, create art, and improve ALL of our lives.
