PFLAG Seattle is an organization of LGBTQ+ people, parents, families, and allies who work together to create an equitable and inclusive world. We are one of the hundreds of chapters from coast to coast who are leading with love to support families, educate allies, and advocate for just, equitable, and inclusive legislation and policies. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. Many LGBTQ+ individuals or their families and friends don't know where to turn when they need understanding and information. They come to PFLAG Seattle support meetings to find it. Our goal is to strengthen our role as advocates for the LGBTQ+ community by expanding our network of LGBTQ+-friendly partners and outreach, and continuing to make educational materials available free of charge.

PFLAG Seattle was started in 1979. We provide:
1) Four safe and confidential support meetings (three in Seattle and one in Renton) each month for anyone struggling with issues related to what it means to be LGBTQ+, and for family and friends of LGBTQ+ individuals who are looking for guidance and support. Our meetings often include guest speakers as part of our educational outreach. Past speakers have included pediatricians, authors, state legislators, Seattle Public School officials and directors of local youth organizations.
2) A help line (via email or phone) for those looking for support or guidance; information about our support meetings; referrals to other local organizations, agencies and resources; or simply a friendly, understanding place to talk.
3) Free educational materials and resources distributed at community events to help support and educate LGBTQ+ persons, families, allies and the general public.
