Peacekeeper Society are a female, Indigenous-led non-profit organization located on the Yakama Indian Reservation. Our mission is to provide life changing opportunities for Indigenous people, but we strive to serve everyone regardless of age, ethnicity, color, enrollment or immigration status.

Our vision is to ensure that our families are healthy, happy, independent & connected to their cultural traditions. We also assist other tribal communities in the Pacific Northwest.

In 2022 we we're able to serve our community through:

- 27 Food Distributions

- 1 Diaper Distribution assisting families with $20,000 worth of diapers for all ages to help families in the lower Yakima Valley

- 1 Pet Food Distribution serving 621 pets 

- 1 Backpack Giveaway which we assisted 843 families with $15,000 worth of backpacks & school supplies 

- 77 pallets or 22,176 gallons of water to Warm Springs Reservation

- Traditional Foods: 8 Tribal members trained by WSU as Master Food Preservers and 10 classes free for the community on processing, preserving and canning of elk, salmon, and berries.  

-Grief Recovery - 3 tribal community members trained in the Grief Recovery Method to provide support to our community dealing with any type of grief from divorce to job loss or loss of a loved one. Specialists are available to facilitate 8 week group sessions or one-on-ones. Services are offered as needed currently.

- In total serving 3,446 families, 11,444 Individuals, and 621 pets

New Programs in 2023

-Páax̣amit Design School:(in it's pilot phase) the Design School is contributing to youth intergenerational learning of conception of regalia design to full creation. Youth & families will be instructed on how to sew their regalia while learning from elders and leaders, the importance of each item, song and dance in participating in pow-wow celebrations. This year the school held it's first week long hide tanning camp on Yakama Reservation.

- PKS Feed the People: Serving warm meals and supplies to the unhoused community on a monthly basis
