Our Mission

The mission of the Pacific Harbors Council is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. By instilling character building, lifelong fitness, service to others and career exploring youth grow into future leaders, business owners, and active citizens. While our programs focus on youth development (over 3,200 youth), we also work closely with our 1,700+ adult volunteers who improve our community through these same virtues. Pacific Harbors Council serves youth and adults throughout the South Sound in South King, Pierce, Lewis, Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Mason and Pacific Counties.

Council Goal

The Scouting program is built on three core objectives: character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. These pillars inspire Scouts to engage in service projects, contribute to their communities, and focus on personal growth—laying the groundwork for the leaders of tomorrow. Studies consistently show that youth involved in Scouting report increased self-confidence and stronger interpersonal skills.

Our goal is to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential under the guidance of trained, community-focused leaders.

Scouting offers a unique approach to youth development, unlike any other organization in the region. Through outdoor adventures and a focus on self-reliance, Scouts grow in confidence, resilience, and leadership. As our motto states, Scouts are "Prepared for Life."

Pacific Harbors Council, Scouting America, aims to raise $5,000 to support youth in our community. Funds will help:

  • Provide membership and camp scholarships,

  • Maintain and upgrade Council equipment,

  • Offset the cost of merit badge courses,

  • Purchase new gear and supplies for Scout programs.

Every dollar helps remove financial barriers and creates more opportunities for youth to thrive in Scouting.
