$7,500 Goal

The Pacific Northwest Trombone Symposium is seeking support to maintain our commitment to 100% tuition-free access for all student participants. Similar regional workshops often charge significant registration fees, creating a financial barrier for students. We believe that world-class mentorship should be accessible to every aspiring musician regardless of their economic background. By making the symposium free for all students, we ensure that a middle school student has the same opportunity to learn from Seattle Symphony artists, New York based Broadway-show pit artists, nationally/internationally acclaimed recording artists, and the finest university and conservatory faculty members as a seasoned doctoral candidate.

Highlights of Pacific Northwest Trombone Symposium:

  • Interactive workshops with leading regional, national, and international trombone artists/educators
  • Trombone technique development
  • Performing arts/skills demonstration
  • All inclusive performances
  • Performances by leading artists and trombone ensembles
  • Opportunity to test trombones from leading instrument manufacturers
  • Appointments for custom trombone fittings by S.E. Shires Co.'s Product Specialist and Artist Relations manager
  • Attendance growth from under 50 to 150 over first three years

Institutional Sponsors:

  • The Sliphorn Society Trombone Ensemble
  • Pacific Lutheran University
  • The Mighty Quinn Brass and Winds
  • S.E. Shires Co.
  • Ted Brown Music
  • Sound Credit Union

... and the planning continues as we begin sketching the celebration of our 5th Anniversary in 2027...
