Mission

Create sustainability in the Nisqually Watershed for current and future generations by developing a common culture of environmental, social, and economic balance.

What We Do

When you give to the Nisqually River Foundation, you’re helping bring people together to create a sustainable and resilient future for the entire Nisqually Watershed. Our goal for this year’s Give Local is to raise $5,000 for our education and outreach programs, so we can continue to grow our capacity and foster the next generation of environmental stewards!

With your gifts, we’re able to bring hands-on learning to hundreds of students, building STEM skills and fostering their curiosity and sense of stewardship for the natural world. We’re also creating new ways for volunteers, residents, and visitors to expand their knowledge and stewardship of the waters, lands, and species of the watershed:

  • $10 buys 2 pairs of gardening gloves for our tree planting volunteers
  • $25 covers supplies for volunteer events with community partners, like tree plantings and river clean-ups
  • $50 pays for water quality testing kits to be delivered to an entire class of local students
  • $100 helps us produce community education events like the Nisqually Watershed Festival
  • $200 funds a school bus to bring up to 60 kids to the shores of their local streams to learn about watershed ecology

In addition to financial donations, your time and energy can help us thrive! Get involved in the Nisqually River Council, become a Nisqually Stream Steward, or share our story with your friends and neighbors to build our community. Together, we’re building a healthy and interconnected future for the Nisqually Watershed.
