Mission

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of animals locally, nationally and internationally; alleviating their suffering and elevating their status in society through the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need and through the education of their community on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, advocating the value of all animal life, in hopes to end the neglect and abuse of all animals through spay and neuter advocacy.

Description

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue (MZar) has revolutionized animal rescue in the state of Washington! Since 2009, we've rescued over 5,200 animals!

Motley Zoo goes above and beyond to support both pets and people in their time of greatest need- and we would appreciate your support in making that happen!

Rescue has changed a lot in the last few years and we're adapting to keep up with the community's needs. While direct rescue is still our priority, we've traced the path of surrender and return to the start- and are equally focused on how animals enter the system in the first place...and are working hard to keep animals in their homes through resources, support and affordable direct training opportunities for all organizations and individuals.

We have a variety of programs, including our pay-what-you-can, "Becoming a Rock Star Dog Handler" program, which is a traveling training series for anyone in need. Whether you've acquired or adopted a dog that has some behaviors you need to work on, to adopters, fosters, volunteers and staff of any organization, we're sharing our effective training methods with all- to create a more cohesive and capable community that supports animals as a priority.

We foster and adopt out animals with a variety of needs- from simple to quite complex and expensive; from young to old and varied species in between. While dogs and cats make up the majority of our species, we always fit in whatever animals we can find foster support for- as ultimately the community determines what we can take on.

We also run our MZ Woods Creek Kennels property in Monroe, WA where we offer boarding & training- not only to the community at large, but to other rescues in need of support for their fosters!

This way, even if we don't have capacity in our foster program at the moment, we can still help other organizations with their dogs- ensuring their time is spent learning, engaging, socializing- and with love and enrichment- every minute of their stay...even when their fosters are out of town, or when they are in transition between fosters.

We are also expanding our reach to support local law enforcement when they need assistance with dogs. From short term stays, to long term placement, we're helping support making our community safer and more humane!

Lastly, the property requires extensive support to maintain. We inherited a variety of systematic dysfunctions and the buildings are in need of maintenance and repair since their creation. From replacing insulation, to running new electrical and plumbing lines, to septic tank repairs and upgrades, your support helps keep our mission running smoothly so we can be there for our community- and other organizations!

Motley Zoo has been a reputable, high-quality mission for more than 17 years. This is because of YOU- our animal-loving community that makes it possible.

To further celebrate the union of pets and community, we are offering "Bad Pet Drawings" for every donation over $50! You simply donate, then send us a picture of your pet (info@motleyzoo.org), and we enlist one of our questionably talented volunteers to create the best "worst" drawing of him or her!

This will also get you entered into our contest for great prizes!

Now, besides all the warm and fuzzy feels you get from giving to our mission, you can be reminded of your kindness and generosity with a wonky drawing of your pet to hang on the fridge too! ;)
