Methow Recycles inspires and facilitates resource conservation through recycling, waste prevention, and materials reuse in rural Washington.

Description

Methow Recycles is a waste prevention and recycling organization that has been helping the Methow Valley reduce waste since 2002. As the valley's recycler, we receive and ship all recycling generated in the Methow Valley. We proudly encourage reduce, reuse, repair, and compost through our waste prevention programs: ReMake Center, Share Library, Repair Cafe, and our residential compost program. We also work with local organizations and our school district to reduce waste from as many sectors as possible and give local youth the skills they need to live a low-waste life. 

Residents know to come to us when they have a tool they’d like to donate or use, when they need to have something fixed, or when they are looking to build something on a budget. The success of our programs have demonstrated a need for services that keep materials in circulation.

We are currently planning to expand our waste prevention programs, add capacity to our compost program by piloting a drop-off site in Winthrop, create a deeper ethic of waste prevention by adding a skills transfer and mentorship element to our youth programs, and strengthen our recycling program to meet the opportunities that new legislation will create. Your gift will keep more resources in circulation in our region and further engage our community to be a part of the solution.
