Methow Recycles

A nonprofit organization

Mission

Methow Recycles inspires and facilitates resource conservation through recycling, waste prevention, and materials reuse in rural Washington.

Description

Methow Recycles is a waste prevention and recycling organization that has been helping the Methow Valley reduce waste since 2002. We proudly encourage reduce, reuse, and repair through our waste prevention programs: ReMake Center, Share Library, and Repair Cafe. As the valley's recycler, we receive and ship all recycling generated in the Methow Valley, whether delivered by our valley's local hauler, WasteWise, visitors, residents, or business owners. We are also exploring local partnerships to create a salvage program where usable building materials from demolition projects are kept in circularity.

Previously during Give Big, we asked you to help us launch a residential compost program and since that time, our community has diverted over two tons of food waste from the landfill through our compost program!

This year, you have an opportunity to make our summer camp a mainstay experience for children in the Methow Valley. At Camp ReMake, kids engage in activities and learn hands-on skills in waste reduction, conservation, and circular living which allows them to understand deeply how their choices affect our planet. By giving them the skills necessary to participate in low-waste living, campers can become life-long waste reduction and resource conservation advocates!

Every dollar raised through Give BIG will support Camp ReMake for years to come!
