Serving our community through the transitions of aging with dignity and respect
In our rural mountain valley, vital services are often limited or inaccessible, making it challenging for older adults to remain independent. Methow At Home (MAH) bridges these gaps by offering practical help with daily living—rides, technology support, grocery shopping, and errands—alongside opportunities for friendship, community connection, and education that empowers people through life’s changes. By weaving social, educational, and material supports together, MAH enables older adults to age safely in their homes and stay engaged in the community they love for as long as possible.
It's up to us when our neighbors need support!
We foster a vibrant, multi-generational community rooted in joy, connection, and mutual appreciation, where everyone is valued.
Our approach is about meeting people where they are, offering a variety of ways for both members to receive and volunteers to contribute—whether through large or small acts—so that everyone can age at home in the community they love for as long as possible.
To achieve this vision, we focus on four core practices:
Member services and volunteer opportunities
Social connection
Preparedness and planning
Education and empowerment
A week in the life of a Methow At Home member
Let's see what a week could offer a Methow At Home member!
SUNDAY: Starts with a fun social hike led by an experienced guide. They show up after catching a ride with someone else who is attending and enjoy a beautiful afternoon walk.
MONDAY: A volunteer arrives to do yearly maintenance checks on their smoke detectors.
TUESDAY: Attend a Digital Literacy Skills class where a tech specialist helps them understand if an email they just received is a scam or not.
WEDNESDAY: A volunteer arrives at their home to pick them up for their appointment at a medical clinic located one hour away over a mountain pass, after the appointment the volunteer is there to give them a ride back to their house.
THURSDAY: Attend a Strength and Balance Class to help prevent falls and maintain mobility.
FRIDAY: They volunteer to read a book during story time at the local preschool.
SATURDAY: Meet with a volunteer (that has medical training) at their home to discuss health concerns after their recent appointment and make sure they understand what type of support they need to follow through with their doctor's recommendations.
This is what it's like to THRIVE through the transitions of aging.
Will you show up for older adults in our community?
