MIYFS Foundation raises funds to support essential Mercer Island Youth & Family Services programs and services. 

Description

MIYFS Foundation is the fundraising arm for Mercer Island Youth and Family Services (YFS). These programs serve all members of the community, including mental health counselors in the schools, senior outreach and advocacy, affordable family counseling, parent education programs, food security, and emergency assistance. Our fundraising efforts ensure these essential services continue to be available for those who need them most.

Currently, there is a high need for Family Emergency Assistance on Mercer Island with a 40% increase in demand/expenditures for income qualified households. YFS Family Emergency Assistance services act as a safety net for Islanders facing unexpected crisis such as unemployment, medical issues, divorce, domestic violence, or other disruptions that might otherwise leave them without a good option for housing.
