MIYFS Foundation raises funds to support essential Mercer Island Youth & Family Services programs and services. 

Description

MIYFS Foundation is the fundraising arm for Mercer Island Youth and Family Services (YFS). These programs serve all members of the community, including mental health counselors in the schools, senior outreach and advocacy, affordable family counseling, parent education programs, food security, and emergency assistance. Our fundraising efforts ensure these essential services continue to be available for those who need them most.

MIYFS Foundation is pleased to provide additional funding in 2026 for the Youth & Family Services (YFS) Senior Services programs. This funding helps sustain several valued YFS programs for older adults, including:

• SAIL (Stay Active & Independent for Life) fall prevention classes
• The Seniors Rising newsletter
• Monthly support groups: Living Alone and Caregiver Support
• Death Café programs throughout the year

These services were expanded based on community feedback and identified needs, but have relied on short-term funding. When community members donate to MIYFS Foundation, we can help ensure the continuation of these essential programs.
