Help celebrate M.U.S.T. 2025 graduates!

Since 2012, M.U.S.T. has been guided by our mission - to provide a space for Black males to liberate themselves through mentoring - to influence the development of a society that supports Black males’ discovery of who they are and what they can achieve.

One of the biggest achievements M.U.S.T. Mentors and Mentees accomplish is graduating from high school and college, and each year M.U.S.T. celebrates its graduates by taking them on the M.U.S.T. Annual Graduate Getaway to Southern California. The Graduate Getaway is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for M.U.S.T. participants who have shown continual dedication to the M.U.S.T. programming, themselves, and their community by reaching their goal of graduation.

This yearly trip is designed to bring the graduating cohort together one last time for fun, relaxation, and reflection before they venture forward on their unique paths in life.

When asked about what he has learned being a part of the M.U.S.T. community, M.U.S.T. Mentee Elijah had this to say: “I learned that there is always support available, and the world is a lot bigger than it seems - you just might need someone to help you see it. I appreciate M.U.S.T. because it is a safe community, allowing Black men to connect and explore things they never thought they would see.”

You can support the 2025 Graduate Getaway by helping M.U.S.T. reach its goal of $25,000 to provide airfare, rooms, meals, and activities to the graduating class of 2025!

About Mentoring Urban Students and Teens

M.U.S.T.’s unparalleled three-tier mentoring model is guided by a holistic approach to the development of our Mentees and Mentors. Within the M.U.S.T. community, every individual (Mentees, Mentors, and Coaches) is supported and encouraged to take control of their own unique mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual potential through connection and brotherhood.

Mentees join the M.U.S.T. community during the summer leading up to their freshman year in high school. They are paired with relatable, emerging adult Mentors to help guide and inspire them throughout their high school tenure as they form a vision for their future and discover their authentic path in life. Likewise, Mentors are paired with volunteer Coaches committed to supporting them on their path by assisting them in the development of their leadership styles and life skills. The Mentor/Mentee relationship is cultivated through weekly breakfast meetings before school as well as bi-weekly weekend outings with their cohort.

In addition to creating a space for Mentees, Mentors, and Coaches to liberate themselves via their relationships with our mentoring community, M.U.S.T. also provides support in the form of monetary compensation and transportation independence for Mentors, along with food assistance for participants and their families.
