Mission
Building community through theatre. In our small theatre, we imagine, empathize, engage, and educate.
About Us
Lakewood Playhouse was founded in 1938. We have a 175 seat theatre that performs shows in-the-round in the Seattle/Tacoma metropolitan area in the Lakewood Towne Center.
Annual Appeal 2024
Over the past few months we have revitalized our educational programming and our recent production of Godspell was our most successful show since before the pandemic. We can feel change coming and that change is inspiring all of us to think of new and exciting ways to implement our mission in both our programming and our presence in the wider community.
We want Lakewood Playhouse to be a hub of diverse perspectives and exchanging ideas. The plays of our 86th Season reflect the rich diversity of our community and our hope is that they will signal that Lakewood Playhouse is a place of belonging for everyone.
Ticket sales only make up a small portion of what it takes to run the Playhouse. In order to keep Lakewood Playhouse alive and continue on our journey of recovery and change we rely on the support of individuals like you. If you have the capacity to give even a little bit to help Lakewood Playhouse continue to serve its community we would be so grateful. If you have the capacity to consider a larger season or show sponsorship, please reach out to us directly for more information. Our Annual Appeal 2024 is running now until December 31st!
