Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

By joining forces with the League, you are becoming part of a powerful movement that is committed to making positive change in our democracy locally. Whether you’re passionate about protecting the environment, advocating for social justice, or promoting voter education and participation, the League offers a platform to make your voice heard. We are powered by amazing volunteers and the generous support of donors like you.

Power to the People! The league empowers voters to participate in our democracy. Our work includes:

  • Shape the future of your community: Elections have real consequences, and the choices we make at the ballot box can shape the future of our communities for years to come. Our candidate forums help voters decide which leaders represent their values and priorities.
  • Expand your knowledge: Our educational forums are designed to provide you and other voters with a deeper understanding of the issues that matter most to our communities. From climate justice to police reform, we explore these topics and help you gain a more informed perspective.
  •  Inform voters like you: Understanding who your representatives are and what they stand for is essential to being an informed voter. Our TRY “They Represent You” booket empowers voters like you to make their voice heard by providing the unbiased information we need to hold your representatives accountable.
  • Ensure that every vote counts: Sometimes voters’ ballots are challenged due to issues with their signature on the ballot envelope. Our direct outreach to King County voters helps ensure that these voters have the opportunity to correct their signature and have their vote counted.
  • Make your voice heard: When you know how decisions are made and who is making them, you can better advocate for the changes you want to see. Our educational activities provide you and others with the knowledge and tools needed to make our voice heard and create positive change in your community.
  • Strengthen our democracy: Democracy vouchers are a powerful tool for increasing political participation and ensuring that everyone has a voice in our democracy.
  •  Upholding the integrity of our democracy
  • All of our voter service and educational activities are provided on a strictly nonpartisan basis.

We are committed to empowering the next generation of voters.

  • Amplifying youth voices: Young people have the power to make a real difference in our democracy, and our Youth Voting Ambassador program provides students with the resources they need to engage their peers, we're creating a network of youth activists who are making positive change in their communities
  • Building the next generation of voters: Our voter registration drives in high schools are designed to inspire the next generation of voters.
  •  Inspiring the next generation of leaders: Our Observer Corps program gives young people the tools they need to become active participants in their local government. We’re creating a pipeline of young leaders who are working to create positive change in their communitiesW

Democratic engagement is crucial for addressing issues such as climate change.

  • Taking action on climate change: Our City Climate Action Guides help local cities take action on climate change. By working together with local cities, we're able to create a tailored approach to adopting climate goals that are specific to each community's needs.
  • Creating a culture of climate action: Our climate tool is about more than just reducing carbon emissions. It's about creating a culture of climate action, where individuals feel empowered to make a difference and are inspired to get involved in advocacy efforts to create change on a larger scale.
  • A focus on climate justice: Our work is guided by the principles of climate justice, which means we're committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status plays a role in – and benefits from - climate improvements
