to EDUCATE, INSPIRE, AND SUPPORT the lives of children with Type 1 Diabetes.
Our goal is to accomplish this through fundraising and outreach to children and youth living with T1D.
The Jordan Morris Foundation is committed to helping children with Type I Diabetes believe they can accomplish anything they set their mind to. Jordan spends time with youth and his main message is to let them know that diabetes cannot hold them back. Jordan embraces his platform of being a Seattle Sounders soccer player and works to reach as many younger diabetics as he can to let them know to keep reaching for their dreams. He shares his own story and experiences of living with T1D and setting goals to continue to achieve his dreams. He knows it is a lot of hard work and has often wanted to quit because it seems so unfair and almost impossible, but he kept pushing and he wants to support other youth to keep pushing too and believe in their goal.
Keeping a positive outlook can definitely be a challenge. Jordan won't ever say that he didn't and doesn't still have moments of difficulty - but he believes the more positively you approach your diabetes, the more in control you'll be, and you'll have better outcomes in achieving the goals you set for yourself. Through the Jordan Morris Foundation he gives back to the T1D Community and shares the message - diabetes is part of me, but It does not define me!
Jordan Morris is a professional soccer player for Seattle Sounders FC. He is also a Type 1 Diabetic, diagnosed at age 9. Through the Jordan Morris Foundation, he strives to change the stigma surrounding diabetes and change the perspectives of those with this disease.
