Mission
InterIm CDA’s mission is to advance social justice and equity for low income, Asian and Pacific Islanders, refugee, and immigrant communities. Since 1969, InterIm CDA has been actively working against the displacement of our community through providing culturally relevant and multilingual housing and community building programs in the CID. Now, InterIm CDA supports low income, API, immigrant and refugee communities across the Puget Sound through housing, youth leadership training, health and financial literacy training, employment services, advocacy, and many more services that provide stability and prevent the displacement of our community.
Description
This year we celebrate the 50th year since the Danny Woo International District Community Garden was built! Through the decades, the gardens 100 plots have been lovingly tended by low income senior residents of the Chinatown International District. The Garden provides them with exercise, social connection, nutritious culturally appropriate food, connection to nature and the earth, a touchstone for cultural continuity, a sense of agency and purpose, and more. Sustaining the Garden for the community poses an ongoing challenge for InterIm CDA. Please donate to help sustain the Danny Woo Garden for the elderly gardeners and the CID community for decades to come!
