Mission

InterIm CDA (ICDA) is a direct service and community development organization born out of the systemic neglect of ANHPIA communities and the CID in the 1960s and 1970s including lack of safe and affordable housing, inadequate social services, and discrimination. InterIm CDA’s mission is to advance social justice and equity for low income, Asian and Pacific Islanders, refugee, and immigrant communities.

Although we serve low income people across the Puget Sound, ICDA has deep roots connecting across the CID and is actively engaged in the community, prioritizing relationships with low-income residents, especially immigrant, refugee, and residents of color, who represent over 75% of the CID’s population.

ICDA's 25 staff represent 16 ethnicities and speak a combined 19 languages; 95% of staff are people of color and 35% of staff identify as immigrants. Staff are deeply rooted in the communities we serve, creating adaptable solutions to the most pressing needs of the community.

Description

InterIm CDA creates solutions to the most pressing needs of low-income immigrants, refugees, and families of color. The communities we serve are experiencing unprecedented fear and need for support, yet public dollars continue to be cut and competition for other funding has skyrocketed.

Community-based fundraising is our goal, gifts of $10, $30, $100, whatever feels possible. ICDA has always been a community-driven organization, yet individual giving only makes up 2% of our 2025 income. To continue meeting the needs of our community in this new funding landscape, we need your help.

Your support will better enable us to:

- Operate 500 units of affordable housing in the CID and South Seattle

- Provide culturally relevant Domestic Violence, Rapid Rehousing, Homelessness Prevention, and Tenant Services to 2,000 low income households

- Operate the Danny Woo Community Garden for 75 senior low income immigrant and refugee gardeners to grow cultivate culturally relevant produce

- Provide teach-ins to community members on issues including ICE know your rights and displacement

- Build community power and advocate for equitable policies

- Provide grocery deliveries through our Cultural Food Program, which senior immigrants and refugees use to prepare familiar, nourishing recipes

- So much more!
