Informed Choice Washington

A nonprofit organization

Mission

Informed Choice Washington is an organization of parents, families, medical professionals, and educators from all walks of life who believe in healthy immunity, personal freedom, and individual choices, including health care choices. The right to make such decisions without coercion is fundamental to our civil liberty.

Our mission is to advocate for vaccine policy reform based on scientific integrity and individual health needs, to promote education about healthy immunity, and to preserve informed consent and medical freedom in Washington State.

Description

OUR POSITION

  • Vaccines are pharmaceutical products (biologics) that carry risks for some recipients. They are commonly used in an effort to prevent illnesses that range from mild to severe, and there are many factors that can influence an individual’s susceptibility to an adverse vaccine reaction. If administered without consideration for the unique genetic, environmental, health, and lifestyle circumstances of the recipient, these products may pose significant risks that outweigh any potential benefit to that individual.
  • Informed consent facilitates trust in the medical system. The doctor-patient relationship is founded on trust that a patient (or a patient’s caregiver) is provided with complete information needed in order to make an educated decision about a recommended medical procedure. Vaccine mandates compromise informed consent, intrude into medical care, and violate the doctor-patient relationship.
  • While they should not be necessary, vaccine exemptions protect parental rights and children’s health. Parents have a fundamental right and responsibility to make medical decisions, free from interference or coercion, based on due diligence, medical necessity, advancements in scientific research, philosophical values, and religious beliefs. As Washingtonians, we have a strong tradition of valuing personal medical freedom, and we will continue to protect vaccine exemptions in our state.

OUR VISION

We envision the future in which every doctor is fully trained in identifying vaccine risk factors and recognizing vaccine injury, every person is afforded a personalized approach to disease prevention, and every parent has the freedom to make the best health care decisions for themselves and their families.
