Good Cheer provides essential services that enable our neighbors to thrive and sustain our community.
Our mission is clear: Good Cheer strengthens our community by ensuring food access, providing essential resources, and inspiring dynamic collaboration. This mission has never been more critical than it is today.
The Challenges We Face Together
Whidbey Island's charm draws people from near and far, creating opportunities and challenges for year-round residents. As living costs rise across the region, Good Cheer is committed to ensuring that people of all income levels can continue to call Whidbey Island home. • $100 keeps essential household items flowing through our thrift stores, making them accessible to all.
• $250 funds resource connection services, helping families navigate housing or healthcare challenges.
• $500 sustains our vital programming.

How We Nourish Our Community
Food Bank
The Good Cheer food pantry stands as a bulwark against hunger, ensuring that no one goes without a meal, regardless of the season. As employment fluctuates with tourist seasons, we provide a constant source of support. Last year, we helped 13,723 neighbors weather economic uncertainties. As we move through 2025, the need continues to grow—we’ve already served 1,600 more community members than at this same point last year.
Farm
Good Cheer farm began as a small garden in 2009 has blossomed into a thriving 1.25-acre farm dedicated to nourishing our community. Using no-till and organic practices, our farm provides fresh, seasonal produce directly to the food bank. In 2024, the farm harvested 17,684 pounds of produce—ensuring that our neighbors have access to healthy, locally grown food all year long.
Thrift Stores
Our thrift stores offer accessibility to necessary goods at reasonable prices. In an area where the cost of living can be prohibitive, these stores are a lifeline. They promote community reuse, reduce waste, and ensure that everyone can afford essential items. Good Cheer Thrift stores are a place where both the resale of high-end collectibles and the availability of free community vouchers create an inviting gathering place and an inclusive shopping experience.
Vital Connections to Resources
Services can be scattered or hard to reach in this rural setting. Our Community Connections program helps people navigate life's challenges — from affordable housing solutions to accessing healthcare services.
Fostering Community Engagement
Good Cheer’s volunteer program strengthens the bonds that make the Whidbey Island community resilient. Last year, over 200 volunteers contributed their time and skills to our mission.

Sustaining a Unique Island Community
The work we do goes beyond providing basic services; we're dedicated to fostering a resilient, inclusive island where everyone can thrive, regardless of the season. Our efforts play a vital role in maintaining a dynamic community that preserves this island's distinctive character. Your gift to Good Cheer helps your neighbors and ensures this special place remains vibrant and accessible to all, maintaining the diverse, year-round community that makes the island thrive.
