Be Kind 5

It all started when…

In 2019 After years of giving back to the community through Girls Giving Back (with over 175 shelter transformation projects) and its ongoing partnership with local shelters, working direct service with youth that were falling through cracks and listening to our community, it became clear the we couldn’t tackle it alone.

The power is in community, in our relationship and how we work together. So Be Kind 5 was born, to connect people and communities to the resources they need to be the change.  

Giving each other support through the 5 pillars of Kindness, where we can continue to empower ourselves to be the change.

As of March 2025 GGB has changed its name permanently to Be Kind 5 to create a much broader reach along with new giving back programs.

Thanks to those of you who have supported GGB since 2009 and we look forward to continuing our missions and if you are so inclined we would love your volunteer support and donations.

Giving Back Programs and resources in each pillar starting with:

*Self Care programming for teens, youth lead empowerment for our mental health empowerment. Coming out Summer 2025

*GGB Shelter support - continuing the Mission to support transitional shelters supporting Women, children and families asking for help. Continuing the GGB efforts designing, organizing and supporting the needs of local shelters (over 200 shelter spaces since 2009)

*Friday Flowers (BK5 Giving Back Partner) - program that picks up flowers on Fridays from flower wholesalers so they don’t go in the dumpster and they are shared with local shelters, elder homes and other organizations to create floral beauty in our community. (Program created by BK5 Board member Kristen Jossart)

*Financial Health programming being developed to further educate and support youth and adult entrepreneurs.  coming 2026!
