Gatheringplace is getting a new home!
Our organization recently launched the public portion of a capital campaign to raise the final funds necessary to buildout our new and permanent facility. We have recently received a direct appropriation from the WA state legislature for $475,000 with many thanks to Representitive Steve Tharinger, adding to our total already raised. We still need to raise $350,000 to meet our financial goal. Your support will help us cross the finish line on our capital campaign so that we can continue providing outstanding programs and services to our amazing community of adults with developmental and other disabilities.
Mission
The mission of Gatheringplace is to foster opportunities, enhance awareness, and facilitate community integration for Jefferson County adults living with intellectual & developmental disabilities, depression or anxiety. We're dedicated to turning challenges into opportunities for our vibrant community of participants by providing programs that provide important life/work, confidence building, communication, and community engagement skills.
Description
At Gatheringplace, we are committed to empowering adults with developmental and other disabilities. Through carefully crafted programs in art, culinary arts, organic gardening, music, movement/sign language, and our wildly popular "Yummy" Dog Biscuit job-training program run by our participants, volunteers and caring staff, we aim to enhance social interaction, impart critical life skills, and foster a sense of belonging within the community. Each program is meticulously structured with the ultimate goal of guiding our participants towards reaching their highest potential and living life to the fullest.
At Gatheringplace, we don't see disabilities as limitations. We consider our community not just unique, but also vibrant and full of potential. Every day, we strive to enrich the lives of our participants by providing the tools necessary to turn personal challenges into opportunities.
