FIUTS advances international understanding through cross-cultural experiences, student leadership, and community connections.

Description

FIUTS believes that people-to-people diplomacy has the power to build a more peaceful world. Our programs connect international students, American students, children in local schools, and individuals in our region to a global community for intercultural dialogue and exchange. Through FIUTS programs, students and others have an opportunity to be ambassadors of their own countries and cultures, to participate in unique cross-cultural experiences with people from across the globe, and to explore the world without leaving home. Through FIUTS programs, students build leadership, communication, and intercultural skills and form strong bonds to our region. Puget Sound residents build connections to international visitors, build bridges between our region and other parts of the world, and learn about the world in a safe and meaningful way. Founded at the University of Washington in 1948, FIUTS has played a key role in connecting the Puget Sound region to the world for generations.
