Our work is essential to the Future of Clark County.

Our mission is to promote responsible growth in Clark County that protects local farms, healthy forests, clean water, abundant fish and wildlife and creates safe, vibrant and equitable communities.

We work to protect our home.

Extensive community outreach

Civic engagement is essential to our mission. We educate and inform the community on what is happening in County government with our Weekly Radars, calls to action, and newsletters. Our Community Outreach Coordinator is FOCC’s only staffed/paid position.

Advocate directly to government

We engage with County staff, elected officials, and advisory group/commission processes to push for responsible land use planning and counter industry influence to protect our natural resources and quality of life.

Legal action–if necessary

We prefer to influence Clark County through advocacy and collaboration. However, we also defend our farmland, local food system, forests, water, climate, and quality of life in the courts when necessary.

These key strategies have proven effective but require sustained support.

The time to give is NOW.

We are in the final push of the County Comprehensive Growth Management Plan Update which will guide development and resource management for the next 20 years. We must ensure critical resource lands are protected and climate change is properly considered. We will not get another opportunity to influence the
Comp Plan until 2035!

We are kicking off our engagement on the Clark County Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Trails (PROST) Plan which will determine how the County invests in our park system. We must ensure our parks meet the needs of our growing community. Public engagement is critical this year.

Help us keep Clark County thriving by giving BIG!

We are excited to share that the Friends of Clark County Board of Directors is matching donations up to $1,200 for this year's GiveBIG fundraising campaign. We need YOUR help to meet our fundraising goal and keep us ready for the fight ahead!
